NEP Midwest Showcase St Louis Class of 2019 Prospect Review

Terrence Hargrove 6’6 SG East St. Louis IL

The St. Louis Bilikins commit entered the event as one of the top rated prospects and finished the day at the top earning camp MVP honors and showcased his unlimited potiential as a bigtime offensive weapon and versatile defender. Hargrove is improving rapidly and has one of the higher ceilings  in the 2019 class nationally.

Jackson Makoi 6’5 CG St. Louis MO

Makoi is a versatile prospect with a very bright future. Makoi has somewhat flown under the radar due to the fact he’s from Australia and the majority of scouts havent had the opportunity to evaluate him properly but there is no question Makoi is a high major talent with advanced basketball IQ and natural instincts. Makoi was a vocal leader on both sides of the ball and may have the best footwork and post game of any guard we coverd in the 2019 class nationally.

Courtland Soll 6’2 CG St. Louis MO 

Soll was very effective when in attack mode and getting out in transition and finishing around the rim. Soll is a tough matchup for defenders especially in isolation situations where he can score at will. Excellent combo prospect who can score in bunches.

Richard Greene 6’3 WG St. Louis MO

Greene is a strong bodied wing prospect who excells at hitting the glass and finishing in transition. Greene also showed the ability to guard multiple positions and solid athletic ability.

Quinton Brown 6’6 F Columbia MO

Brown was one of the breakout performers at this years event. Brown is an excellent athlete who excels  at running the floor and finishing well above the rim. Brown also showed nice shooting touch out to the 3pt line and a solid basketball IQ. Coaches should dial in on this late bloomer with major upside.

Aaron Daniels 5’10 PG Florissant MO 

Daniels is a fiery, competive lead guard who can get buckets in a hury. Daniels had a good showing earning top 20 honors with his agressive style of play that rubbed off on his teamates creating a very competitive environment.

William Shumpert 6’6 WG Belleville IL

Shumpert is multisport athlete who is improving in all phases on the hardwood. Shumpert had one of the best finishes we witnessed at the event throwing down a monster one handed slam on a defender. Shumpert also excels as a rebounder from the wing and has good size for the position.

Khalifah Muhammed 6’3 WG Belleville IL

Muhammed had a big day at the Midwest Showcase earning top 20 honors and surprising local coaches and players in attendance with his rapidly improving skil set. Muhammed is a very good slasher with the ability to finish well above the rim and also showed the ability to knock down 3s with ease.

Anthony Hople 6’2 CG St Charles MO

Hople was a walking bucket, scoring from all three levels and staying in attack mode the entire camp. Hople is a good athlete who can play both guard spots effectively.

Mehmet Ulus 5’10 G St Louis MO

Ulus is a solid shooter who lookled good in catch and shoot situations and also showed the ability to set his teamates up for easy buckets.

Orkun Ozcan 6’2 G St Louis MO

Ozcan has a strong frame and is a jack of all trades type guard who can rebound, facilitate and shoot at a solid rate.

Vangelis Dermisis 6’0 G St Louis MO

Lefty Shooter can get hot from 3 but also looked solid off the catch and shoot from the midrange area.

JaRon Thames 6’5 F Florissant MO

Thames day was cut short due to scheduling conflicts but he was very productive while in attendance. Thames is a good finisher who also rebounds at a nice rate.
